Despite realizing that the witches’ prophecies have turned against him, Macbeth chooses to defy fate and fight to the end. His pride and sense of honor compel him to fight rather than surrender. Throughout the play, Macbeth is portrayed as a valiant warrior who values his reputation and bravery. Macbeth understands that yielding would lead to public humiliation and disgrace. By choosing to fight, he maintains some semblance of control over his fate.
