Description
In his guilt, fear, and confusion, Macbeth brings the daggers back with him after murdering King Duncan. They were supposed to lie with the drugged guards, framing them. Lady Macbeth takes control of the situation by returning the daggers herself and smearing the guards with blood, ensuring that they appear guilty of the murder, and securing their plan.
